Life Essentials Day Spa is offering their Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) fall specials. This year, for the first time, we are offering CBD Zenyama Massages as part of our BOGOs. With the legalization of marijuana medically and recreationally in Colorado, the health benefits of Cannabidiol, or CBD, are starting to become more universally recognized.
In this blog we will explore what CBD is and how it can help you.
1. Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the main ingredients in marijuana along with THC. THC is the psychoactive ingredient that gives users a ‘high.’ CBD does not give users a high, but has been known to reduce pain, decrease nausea and help reduce the frequency of seizures in those suffering from seizures. CBD has also been said to reduce inflammation in the body, relax muscles, slow tumor growth, help fight neurodegenerative disorders and help reduce anxiety and depression, according to WebMD.
2. Cannabinoids are similar to chemicals that occur naturally in the body that help regulate appetite, memory, inflammation and pain reduction. Marijuana with CBD is believed to provide relief for many different ailments and symptoms with “a high degree of safety because some of the pharmacological components of the cannabis plant mimic an internal chemical harm reduction system in the human body that keeps our health in balance – the Endocannabinoid System (ECS),” according to Marcel Bonn-Miller, PhD, a substance abuse specialist at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.
3. CBD can be applied to the skin through salves, creams, lotions, oils and sprays. Hemp derived CBD contains minimal amounts of THC, not enough to get you high, while marijuana derived CBD can contain up to 25 percent of THC.  CBD oil derived from marijuana can result in the ‘high’ you would feel from smoking marijuana, although the time it takes to get high would be slower when transmitting through the skin as opposed to smoking it.
4. Hemp derived CBD is legal in all 50 states, however marijuana derived CBD is only legal in states where medical and recreational marijuana use is legal, such as Colorado.
Our goal at Life Essentials Day Spa is to help our clients achieve relief from pain and inflammation through our CBD Zenyama Massages. In general, massages have proven healing benefits from touch and muscle relaxation. Our CBD Zenyama massages take those healing benefits one step further. If you are experiencing serious health problems or are currently taking medication, we advise that you consult with your doctor before booking a CBD massage.
